The same time every year accidents happen to Cara's family - bruises, cuts and broken bones became the norm and each sibling became accustomed to being wrapped up and protected to avoid 'the accident season.' Why is this family so cursed? And how far will they go to protect themselves?
The Accident Season started out okay, but grew disappointing, ending on being somewhat interesting. I pushed through this book but it felt like a conscious effort to do so. I didn't particularly care for any of the characters, despite being given back stories and emotional turning points throughout. I wasn't particularly invested in the storyline, either, with a vague interest in the reason behind what was going on, but not enough to keep me gripped to the pages as I had hoped. I thought the imagery in the book was a positive, however, with Fowley-Doyle creating an eerie dreamlike world through her writing and I would probably pick up another book of hers out of curiosity, but unfortunately this one just wasn't for me.
