Flashback Friday: Favourite Older TV Series
I was sitting at home today, thinking of all the TV series I've loved in my lifetime - which was not easy believe me, there have been hundreds - and I decided I wanted to watch a blast from the past. I wanted to obsess over some of the series I used to love in my younger years and as well as reliving some of my favourite older TV show moments, I wanted to share them with the YA Love readers.
Freaks and Geeks
Unfortunately, I'm too young to have watched this when it first aired on TV in 1999 (I was 7) but a few years ago, I was obsessed with the teen high-school drama set in the 80's. Young James Franco, Seth Rogan, Jason Segel and Busy Phillips? Although they're still pretty much the same as they are now, seeing them act in the beginning of their careers is a pretty amazing thing - and the show is hilarious and addictive!
Dawson is the ultimate (and first) male protagonist in a teen drama who showed us it's okay for guys to be sensitive, emotional and creative. James Van Der Beek and Katie Holmes are pretty amazing in this TV show that had us hooked.
One Tree Hill
This show is probably one of the most quotable TV shows of all time and has a great soundtrack. With characters who literally grew from teens to adults on screen, this show is pretty amazing if you have a few weeks to kill because there are a lot of series. But beware - you will have the theme tune in your head all day long!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy is perhaps one of the first places I became obsessed with Vampire shows. It had a kick-arse female protagonist who wasn't scared to fight for herself and be a hero. Over the shows nine years' on air, we saw the characters develop in a way we didn't expect. Buffy is one show you NEED to watch.
